Brief info

Andrew Vita began his fire service career in 1991 with the Fair Oaks Volunteer Fire Department in Fairfax, Virginia. In 1996, he was hired full-time as a firefighter/paramedic with the City of Fairfax Fire Department. During his career he has held the positions of assistant fire marshal, ALS lieutenant, captain, and battalion chief. He currently serves as Assistant Chief of Support Services with Stafford County Fire and Rescue.

Chief Vita has a passion for the development of fire service leaders and has been teaching fire and emergency medical courses for twenty-eight years. He has assisted as a subject matter expert on the development of several leadership programs and promotional exams.

Chief Vita has completed the Executive Fire Officer Program from the National Fire Academy and the International Association of Fire Chief’s Fire Service Executive Development Institute.
